Lifeaid

There is a pretty common food that has been in the sunny spotlight lately. Seems that lemons aren’t just the bitter fruit that needs a lot of sugar and a roadside stand to actually stand out anymore. Cut out the sugar, squeeze a half lemon into a cup of warm water, and pucker up, because you’re going to want to add lemon water to your diet once you hear of the health benefits of this new starring citrus drink!

Introducing lemon water ABC’s…and W.

Anti-aging

Are you looking for ways to look younger? Well, lemon water reduces free radicals, which lead to improving your skin. The vitamin C and antioxidant properties decrease wrinkles, and its alkaline nature fights blemishes as well.

Lemon water helps flush out your system because it is a natural diuretic. The more you urinate, the more toxins are released. The citric acid in lemons also stimulates the liver to aid in detoxifying your body.

Want to just feel younger? Lemons can help that too! Cleansing the liver, kidneys and blood, lemons’ detoxing quality will give you more energy. Even the scent of fresh lemons alone can clear your mind and invigorate you.

Bacteria battling

Lemons contain saponins and are high in vitamin C. Both are great for fighting colds. Saponins have antimicrobial properties that keep colds and flu at bay. Reducing phlegm and aiding with sore throats, lemons work on battling both bacteria and viruses by boosting your immune system. Got gingivitis? Body odor? Over time, the high antioxidant and antibiotic properties of lemons will help both! Just remember that the citric acid in lemons can erode tooth enamel, so that’s why we dilute it with water.

Cancer combating

Cancer thrives in acidic environments. Even though lemons contain citric and ascorbic acid, once ingested, lemons raise the body’s PH to be more alkaline. This counterbalances more acidic foods we may have eaten. Limonoid glucosides, a compound found in lemons, are proven to have long lasting protective anti-carcinogenic properties.

Weight loss winning

Remember we mentioned lemons assisting your liver? Lemon water actually helps your liver produce more bile, and that will help you digest fats better. It loosens the toxins in your digestive tract and even aids with heartburn and bloating. High in pectin fiber, lemons can help fight your hunger. And…lemon water is calorie free!

Containing calcium, citric acid, potassium, phosphorous, magnesium, bioflavonoids, pectin and limonene, lemons are grabbing everyone’s attention.

So next time life gives you lemons, be glad, because now you can make yourself a whole lot of lifeaid! Check out our new chiropractor videos and stay updated with the latest chiropractor news.
